The New Ride For Moab, Utah 2012

Well it is that time again. Chris Durham Motorsports is well on the way to Moab, Utah for Easter Jeep Safari. Feast your eyes on the newest design. The custom design started with a frame (as usual). It is a play off of the willys jeep truck. The front grill is an authentic from a “willys jeep here at the shop”. And, the “Chris Durham Motorsports vintage blue” paint job was carefully painted in multiple layers to give that right out of the carolina mountains look. This jeep has many advantages over other designs. As always low-centered, full cage, and very safe. And it will go where many cannot.

The threads occasionally have skeptics (and I track them carefully), so this year we have a bit of a surprise for y-all. So… please stay tuned and check back in the next couple weeks to see what I am talking about. We have something to show you, because talk would only be cheap.

see you if you’re coming, and if not see ya’ll when we return.

riding with living legend Walker Evans

When it comes to desert racing, no name comes to mind faster than “Walker Evans”. Chris and Walker have been friends for quite some time. They often get together in Moab, Utah to ride together. We rode for several day with Walker and it was a great adventure. To say the least, whatever you think riding is, or whatever you think wheeling should be, they take it up several notches. I have met my share of celebrities, so I wasn’t certain what to expect. Walker was as nice as they come. He is a fierce driver as well as a gentleman.  After meeting him, it was really obvious why Walker and Chris get along so well. They are both easy going,  great guys, and experts behind the wheel.

Check out some of the photographs from the rides. Enjoy and feel free share the link with friends.

This weekend we did a run to test a proto-type for the Moab event coming up in a couple of weeks (moab easter jeep). In order to prepare Chris cut a monster of a new trail on the mountain. The way this work-in-progress is handling is too crazy to put into words. You will need to see it to believe it. It is NUTS! Thanks to Chris, Steve, Randy, Ron, Bob & Bob, Andrew, and Tyler. and all the others who turned out and put on a great show. Most of these guys have been published in the best Jeep Magazines. Here is a link to the latest. We had some great photo-op’s on this outing. Check out the photos from the run and feel free to make some comments.

Just as a teaser, just wait to see the photos from the Moab trip. I will see if we can post them while we are out there to keep you up to date. There may be one more test-runs before we head out for Moab, Utah.
